Have you ever wondered who invented school? Children have been taught informally by their parents and others throughout human history long before school existed. But in terms of structured education, where students gather together formally and are taught by a teacher, King's School in Canterbury, England, is believed to be the oldest school still in existence. King's School is a boarding school. That means children live at the school. It was established by Saint Augustine of Canterbury in 547 A.D.
