Culture Note

People greet one another in different ways around the world. In some Asian cultures, people bow in greeting. In Cambodia and Laos, people bow with their hands in a prayer position. People in Thailand do the same, but spread out the fingers. In Japan, the low bow signifies respect. Koreans also bow, sometimes holding the right hand with the left hand to show respect. They shake hands too. How do you greet people in your country?
